An annual report which summarises official statistics on the qualifications market in Wales for the academic year 2023 to 2024.

This release was revised on 29 April 2025, after initial publication on 20 February 2025, as corrected data was submitted by one awarding body after publication.

The revision affects the certificate data for vocational and other qualifications in the 2023 to 2024 academic year only. The revised number of vocational and other certificates awarded is 3.5% lower than previously reported. The revised total number of certificates awarded in Wales is 1.6% lower than previously reported. The revision has reduced the number of certificates reported for qualifications at level 1 to level 4, and in seven of the fifteen sector subject areas. The revision has also changed the rank order of awarding bodies by certificates issued in Wales.

On 31 August 2024, there were 90 recognised awarding bodies in Wales, which is one less than at the same point in 2023.
3,619 approved or designated qualifications were available in the 2023 to 2024 academic year, a decrease of 1.8% compared to the previous year.
In the 2023 to 2024 academic year, 766,625 certificates were awarded for regulated qualifications in Wales, a 4.7% increase from the previous year.
WJEC was the awarding body with the largest market share, awarding 66.6% of all certificates, 0.6 percentage points lower than their market share in the previous year.
