On 31 August 2025, there were 87 recognised awarding bodies in Wales, which is three fewer than at the same point in 2024.
3,378 approved or designated qualifications were available in the 2024 to 2025 academic year, a decrease of 6.7% compared to the previous year.
In the 2024 to 2025 academic year, 751,355 certificates were awarded for regulated qualifications in Wales, a 2.0% decrease from the previous year.
WJEC was the awarding body with the largest market share, awarding 65.0% of all certificates, 1.6 percentage points lower than their market share in the previous year.
